Great location for day trips to Florence and Pisa. If you have a car. Spacious apartment. The restaurant was incredible! Best food we had in our whole trip in Italy!

The castle is fantastic, and the apartment was nice. To be an apartment where you must cook your food and be self sufficient, I think the equipment in the kitchen could be better. Like better cooking knives, cuttingboard etc…
I think if there were to be a washing cloth, dishwashing soap and other basics like toiletpaper, it would be easy for you to fix, and better customerservice.

Why dont you have an open bar for lunch and drinks at least during the high season? With so many visiting the pool during the day, that would only be a win win situation for you, I think.

I loved the atmosphere, and dining in the restaurant at night was a really nice experience. Would be lovely with more variation to the menu though. And the food was a bit too salt.

Très bel endroit. L'appartement un peu vétuste mais propre. Le personnel est très sympa et à l'écoute. Le restaurant est au top.

Emplacement magnifique et très calme. Les maisons proposées sont magnifiques. Préférable d'avoir une voiture pour y accéder.

wonderful premises, lovely pool and grounds, several excellent places to eat within 30 minutes walk but as property recommend, a car is needed to explore further afield. Good restaurant and self-catering accommodation was very comfortable and clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Will revisit!

We loved the castle! It felt so different to stay in such special place. The apartment was very confortable, excellent showers and amazing views. Tuscany sunlight is magical. Location was great and we would definitely come back again.

There is much to say here, but I will start with this: Read the fine print. We were not aware until we arrived that this facility did not provide the bare essentials. We had purchased quite a bit of food for our 4 days here, yet it wasn’t until we checked in that we found out they don’t provide any types of dish soap, napkins, paper towels, or even more than one small roll of TP. Their attitude is that you should treat it like camping and pack in the supplies you will need. The check in counter was only open from 9am to 5 pm, so if you need something outside of those times, it will need to wait until the next day. I will say that the staff was very friendly and accommodated our requests for extra fans (because there was no A/C and it was very HOT) and extra pillows. Also, you will need insect repellent and anti-itch cream, because the mosquitoes here are relentless and plentiful. On a positive note, the landscape is breathtaking, and we met some nice guests at the pool. The castle (if you’re lucky enough to get a room in that part of it) was very interesting and spooky, with lots of places to explore. We stayed in the “villas” which were detached and a few hundred yards from the main facility, with far less charm and intrigue. Overall, I would recommend it, as long as you temper your expectations and know going in that it is a 1000 year old castle, and you will live similarly to those folks.

This is a truly special place. A perfect location for exploring Tuscany and still having a relaxing holiday.

Very friendly personnel, very helpful with all questions. The property was beautiful and well kept. Our stay was the perfect size, the only thing we missed was more storage room in the bathrooms and more comfortable chairs at the pool. But this can be overlooked. Nice central location of the castle and the restaurant was very nice. We dined at the restaurant one evening but when we came to the dessert more than half of them were no longer available so we didn’t eat one.
Overall a very pleasant stay, can recommend!

We stayed there for a week and and were quite fascinated: The castle is set in a wondeful landscape. The pool is nice, the restauarnt was great.
Check - in and chek-out were without problems. The appartment was nice.
You definetly need a car - but then Florence, Siena and Pisa are within easy reach.

Don’t miss this gem. Such a place filled with ancient history and the area is well isolated so no noise. The apartment was old of course but very serviceable and all the three bathroom were modernized. Bed was excellent. The food is delicious regardless of some comments I had read from previous guests. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Hope to return soon. I have no negative comments what so ever except may be poor lighting in the kitchen / living area. But we didn’t do any cooking as we were on a Tuscany vacation.

Die Ferienwohnung war sehr gepflegt und sauber. Die ganze Anlage ist sehr gepflegt und schön. Es gibt auch ein sehr gutes Restaurant. Mit dem Auto erreicht man in einer halben Stunde einen Park and Ride - Parkplatz nach Florenz. Ein sehr empfehlenswertes Domizil.

Otroligt fint slott med massa historia. Trevlig och hjälpsam personal. Nära till det mesta att se i vackra Toscana! Vi åkte med våra tre små barn som älskade att vara på Montegufoni.

Participating in a weddi g was a great experience and the castle is very interesting with many places to explore. It is nice to cool down in the pool and it is possible although sometimes a little difficult to get around with a stroller.
The experience would have been better though if the rooms had aircondition. Very difficult to sleep in 30 degrees at night. Although, the rooms have great space and the baths and toilets are very fine.
The restaurant at the castle is not worth it. Better to prepare food yourself or go to other restaurants in bearbejde towns or the hotel up the hill.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Castillo di Montegufoni! The Valencia and Stefania were incredibly helpful and accommodating and the restaurant was fabulous. We ate in the restaurant three nights during our stay because it was that good! Our group stayed in a 3-bedroom apartment which was charming, clean and comfortable. The grounds are lovely and the castle is close to several very good wineries. I wish I could have stayed longer! I hope to come back next fall.

The apartment was perfect. The area and nature are amazing. We were 4 adults and 2 children. 3 bedrooms suits well for such a big company. We were suprised that heating costs additional money. It was not indicated in our reservation. And it was our first time when heating was included in the cost of apartment. The apartment is situated near by the castle. You can visit the castle while check-in and check-out. Anyway our stay was really nice.

Mooi gerenoveerd appartement, net buiten het kasteel. Wij hebben 2 dagen genoten van het verblijf tijdens ons 50-jarig huwelijksfeest.
